Clair Obscur Dominates at the 2025's Golden Joystick Awards
The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards were hosted recently, and through an impressive performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerged as the most decorated winner. This standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive earned the esteemed Ultimate Game of the Year award, along with accolades for Superb Storytelling and Best Visual Design.
Complementing the developer's success, its gifted actors also were honored with individual awards. Jennifer English won Outstanding Lead Performance for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Actor for his acting as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive the studio was named Best Development Team. Overall, Clair Obscur and its makers collected 7 awards throughout the ceremony.
Other standout winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Outstanding Audio and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Top Self-Published Indie and Best PC Game. Worth mentioning, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the gamers, with only four awards—Critics Choice, Rising Star, Hall of Fame, and Streamer Selection—decided by experts.
